Tourism Northern Tasmania has undergone a rebranding phase, emerging as Visit Northern Tasmania.
Chief executive Chriss Griffin said the name change was something that was in the pipeline pre-COVID.
“A lot of it [rebrand] had to do with the agency thinking about what we were out here to do,” he said.
“The title Visit Northern Tasmania sums up what we’re here to do which is to get people to visit Northern Tasmania.
“It seems pretty straightforward but it also appreciates that it takes unity to host a visitor not just the tourism industry.”

Mr Griffin said the rebranding came at a time where all of Tasmanian tourism was re-emerging into a post-COVID lockdown climate.
“Like many businesses there were things we put aside and focus on the emergency in front of us,” he said.
“But equally coming out of it we’ve been able to present a new invitation for Tasmanians to visit Northern Tasmania.”
