TasNetworks boss set to depart next year

The boss of TasNetworks is set to step down from the role after more than seven years overseeing the state’s poles and wires. Lance Balcombe, who was TasNetworks’ inaugural chief executive, has informed the state government that he’ll be departing the business on March 25 next year. In other news: TasNetworks chairman Dan Norton thanked Mr Balcombe for all the work he had done. “TasNetworks has evolved to a safer, stronger and more dynamic business under Lance’s leadership, and we wish him well for the future,” Dr Norton said. Energy Minister Guy Barnett wished Mr Balcombe all the best for the future and said he would leave behind a “strong legacy”. A recruitment process to fill the position will be commenced.
