The people of Launceston were spellbound by the spectacle of snow falling on the city overnight, inspired to pick up their phones and cameras and document the rare weather event.
Amateur photographers flocked to social media on Wednesday to share their images of Launceston’s transformation into a winter wonderland.
In other news:
There was the frostbitten Southern Outlet, the snow-choked Cataract Gorge, a late-night ski at Newnham: the snow show so delighted Launceston’s budding snappers that they seemed to find creative inspiration everywhere they turned.
The stunning views at my Dads house, 10 minutes outside of Launceston. I have to say, I don’t usually miss little Tassie but freedom and snow sounds pretty good to me right now! ❄️🌨 #TasWeatherpic.twitter.com/t2XZOSjZUD
