The Princess Theatre will be opening its doors for Coming Home, a community fundraiser and one-night-only performance you won’t want to miss.
The show is a community led response to the wide-reaching effects of the pandemic and will raise critical funds for the theatre.
Producer BJ King volunteered to mastermind the performance.
“The time is now right for us to take measured and safe steps to reclaim our beautiful theatre and support the best that is yet to come,” he said.
The fundraiser will feature 80 performers from eight local theatre and dance companies including Ballet and Dance Arts Tasmania, Christopher Bryg, Encore Theatre Company, EsqueOpera, Samantha Hammersley, Abbey Hansson, Kim Roe School of Dance, Launceston College, Launceston Musical Society, John Ralph, Stage Right Youth Theatre, Michael Stocks, and Studio Space Theatre Company.

Theatre North’s programs manager Stuart Loone said he feels very grateful, with the performance involving some high profiled and talented people.
“It’s going to be so great. It’s basically all of Launceston’s favourites jam-packed into one evening,” he said.
“It’s going to be a wonderful night of song, dance, and merriment in a safe and socially distanced fashion.”
Mr Loone said he would encourage the community to book tickets to the show quickly as they are selling fast, and to continue to support Theatre North into the future.
“It’s a long road to recovery and there’s more fundraising to do. We thank Launceston for having our back through all this. The best way to support all of us is bums safely on seats,” he said.
The event is strictly capped at 230 patrons, with staggered arrival times and a checkerboard seating arrangement to ensure safety and the adherence to pandemic restrictions.
If you want to make a night of the event, the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston will also be offering a two-course pre-show dinner.
The one-off performance will be held on Saturday 26 September, 7:30pm. Bookings are essential and tickets are available from: www.theatrenorth.com.au
