Buckets of rain are expected to saturate the North-West over the coming week in what could be the most significant rainfall in months, says the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. Meteorologist Alex Melitsis said BoM was expecting persistent rain to develop across the Coast on Wednesday morning, increase on Thursday and Friday, and then ease on Saturday. He said BoM was expecting rainfall of 50 to 80 millimetres across most of the North-West, with more than 100 millimetres in certain areas. The news follows a record dry July for many areas in the North-West. “The coming rainy weather will be a dramatic change to the very dry conditions that North-West Tasmania has been experiencing over the past months – much of the North-West Coast experienced its driest July on record,” Mr Melitsis said.
