Contact testing underway in Brisbane after COVID scare
Contact tracing and testing is underway after a woman — who returned to Japan from Brisbane via Sydney — tested positive for COVID-19.
Health authorities say the woman arrived in Australia in mid-July and tested negative in two weeks of hotel quarantine in Sydney, before coming to Brisbane.
She recently flew back to Japan via Sydney and on her arrival was asymptomatic, but returned a positive coronavirus test.
Authorities are still working out where she may have caught the virus. Queensland Health has issued an alert for Virgin flight VA-962 from Brisbane to Sydney on Monday and anyone who dined at Greenslopes cafe, The Jam Pantry, on Sunday.
