Making snowmen, and having snowball fights might not be a typical day at Launch into Learning but it was the best way to celebrate.
Youngtown Primary School’s Launch into Learning program held its first sessions this week after a long hiatus due to the pandemic.
Launch into Learning coordinator Georgia Garwood said it had been a long time since parents and children had met face-to-face.
However, she said a lot of work had gone into ensuring the school could run the program in a COVID-safe manner.
Kings Meadows mother Kahlia Smith said her two children Fletcher, 3, and Thea, 1, had both missed their playgroup sessions.
“They both love coming here, it’s a great introduction to Kindergarten and they get to spend time with other children,” Mrs Smith said.
She said Launch into Learning was a great program because it familiarised her children with the school, its teachers and other children who might be Fletcher’s classmates. Launch into Learning sessions are held weekly at the school.
