House of Assembly speaker Sue Hickey in a statement to Parliament on Tuesday morning encouraged members with issues over her rulings to raise them directly with her.
The address comes after Ms Hickey shut down a contribution from Greens leader Cassy O’Connor on Thursday which resulted in a stoush between the pair.
Ms O’Connor addressed media on Monday and said she was uncertain whether Ms Hickey maintained the confidence of house members.

Ms Hickey on Tuesday said parliament’s standing orders allowed her to make displinary action to maintain order.
“Having been in this house for just over two years, I am continuing to learn the practical application of these standing orders in all situations,” she said.
“It is my role to maintain such order during debate.
“There are occasions when passions become inflamed, excessive interjection occurs, and the house becomes noisy and unruly.”
