A grand jury has indicted a former police officer on criminal charges, six months after Breonna Taylor was fatally shot in Kentucky.
The jury presented its decision against fired police officer Brett Hankison on Wednesday to a judge in Louisville, where the shooting took place.
He was indicted on a charge of wanton endangerment.
The state of Kentucky has implemented a curfew from 9:00pm (local time) in anticipation of unrest.
Ms Taylor was shot multiple times by officers who burst into her home executing a ‘no-knock’ warrant on March 13, during a narcotics investigation.
No drugs were subsequently found in her home.
Protesters across the United States have demanded justice for Ms Taylor and other black people killed by police in recent months.
More to come.
