A $5 million plan to bring The Good Guys and up to 437 more vehicle movements per day to Invermay could be approved by the City of Launceston council on Thursday.
The development would be located at the corner of Goderich and Gleadow streets, near Bunnings.

According to a traffic impact assessment (TIA) sent to council, The Good Guys would generate up to 437 vehicle movements per day and once developed, the whole site would generate up to 643 movements.
Council received four submissions which raised concerns about the development.
Leigh Murrell was one of the people who made representations to council.
“It is my contention that such a development in that location will only further increase the already growing congestion,” Mr Murrell said.
“This current application will also cause serious damage to a long-standing, existing family business, that being Begents.”
Ms Mainbridge said council had to look at each development application on its merits “irrespective of market forces”.
“The proposal is a valid planning application and has been assessed against all relevant provisions of the [planning] scheme,” she said.
Various road works to occur around the development would mean, according to the TIA, the “increase in vehicle movements can be sustained”, Ms Mainbridge said.
