Embattled Aged Care Minister Richard Colbeck has been dubbed “Minister for Funerals” in a savage addition to his Wikipedia page.
“He has been Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians (or as the position is now known, Minister for Funerals) and Minister for Youth and Sport in the Morrison Government since May 2019,” the page said on Monday.
Tasmanian Senator Colbeck has come under fire on a range of fronts over the federal government’s preparedness for and handling of the coronavirus pandemic in nursing homes.
He was criticised for not having the number of people who had died of coronavirus in Victorian nursing homes to hand at a Senate committee hearing.
He was later lambasted by Labor for walking out of the Senate after giving a speech.
“Maybe you should stay and listen to what the Senate has to say, Minister Colbeck,” Labor Senate Leader Penny Wong said.
Labor called for Senator Colbeck’s sacking.
The reference to Minister for Funerals was removed during the afternoon.
