Bindi Irwin has revealed she is pregnant, taking to social media to announce: “We couldn’t wait to share the news.”
“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!” Irwin told her followers on Instagram on Tuesday night.
“Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter.”
Ms Irwin’s announcement came less than five months after her marriage to long-time American boyfriend Chandler Powell at Australia Zoo on March 25.
Their wedding occurred just hours ahead of a Federal Government deadline limiting numbers at public gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She said at the time the Government’s restrictions meant she had to “change everything” and that they did not have guests at the wedding.
Ms Irwin, the 22-year-old daughter of the late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, asked for pregnancy advice from her followers.
“Your support means the world to us,” she said.
“Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light.”
Irwin met her partner at Australia Zoo six years ago.
Mr Powell, a former wakeboarder from Florida, had previously said that proposing marriage to Irwin, “in her very favourite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way” to do it.
